| | Just finished The Snake Tattoo. | ] | Not so bad a day so far... got into work early for a user-test on an application, which went okay. Hardly had to do any walking on the way in, which helped a lot. Couldn't get a seat on the Waterloo and City line, but standing was okay - the foot's improving in leaps and bounds (so to speak).
Weekend was reasonable too - quiet Saturday morning, Saturday night spent round friends' for dinner then a midnight drive to my parents'. They have cable, so we knackered ourselves watching Smackdown until 2.45am then the next day took my Nan to the RHS gardens at Wisley. We were a bit worried we'd tire her out, until I broke the foot, but that gave an excuse for lots of rest stops without her feeling that she was holding us back - in fact, I probably needed them more than she did. Finally, Mum and Dad took us for dinner as a thank-you for Malta. Then a midnight drive home again - we went up and down the A1(M) four times in 24 hours.
So, nothing spectacular but a good, varied weekend seeing lots of people. Only two flies in the ointment: very little sleep, and Lisa now has a run of late shifts so I'll hardly see her for a week :o(
Other stuff: got my mobile bill and can finally see how much the call to gerriparker and others cost during the T21 Slave Auction in February (see earlier). It lasted just under 35 minutes and cost ?10.40. Cheap at twice the price, I reckon. |
