Well, I took the instant messaging plunge and am now on AIM. Had my first conversation with ![[info]](http://piktures.deadjournal.com/userinfo.gif) stalkerofursoul, and here it is preserved for posterity. Note his eloquent use of language and the way he draws me into conversation... ;o)

he makes me seem horrible! im the one that gave him the Log for that conversation!@! And we had a brief conversation with actually sentences and stuff today!
/me concedes the point. It's a noble man indeed who voluntarily provides the evidence that hangs him ;o)
When I first got going with IM, I was told to lay off the essays, 50 words or less! The temptation to try to come up with a 49 word message was powerful indeed...

Weird - I did exactly the same thing last weekend, after years of not bothering with IM.
Not that I've actually had enough time since to find anyone online to chat to, but I'm sure I will eventually...
