Worn out [Feb. 25th, 2003|12:48 pm]

[Feeling |tired]
[Reading |Lorna Sage, Bad Blood - bloody brilliant memoir.]

Tired and then some. Stayed up way too late last night - about 3am, maybe 3.30, with the alarm clocks set for work at 6am and 6.30. It was worth it and I'm not sorry I did it, but I'm paying for it now and no mistake.

Also, our PC at home is slowly dying. The rundll32 file has gone belly-up so it's no longer possible to dial out, which means no internet or e-mail at home. :o(

The good news: we go away from March 1st to March 15th, to a cottage we've booked in St Ives, Cornwall. A late anniversary break and an early birthday one for me.

Finally:

Happy birthday, Sydney!

Oooh - St Ives is lovely!

We're spending a week in Devon starting on the 15th, so we might pass you on the A30 as you're on your way back :)

Muddling along pretty much as per usual...very much looking forward to the week in Devon though :)

I agree with you on Bad Blood - it's a truly fantastic book.

I've been meaning to read it for ages as Lorna Sage was Dean of School when me and Lisa were at the UEA. I was never taught by her but remember her chairing meetings of the University Council (or some such body) when I was a student rep on it, and I think I was called in to see her once about something - maybe overdue essays. I seem to remember a small, intense, very gaunt chain-smoker with a wide smile. But that could be my memory playing tricks - it was a few years ago now...
