It's the one point in the year when I hate being self employed... I've been putting it off since May but the deadline's just about here.

it's a bit harder this year because our accountant died in September :o( and we don't yet know what to make of the new bunch... they seem less keen to go to war on the tax office on our behalf though. I fear they may want to see receipts. :eek:

Don't you just love accountants and tax offices? *Sigh*

Don't worry - we've been panicking as well recently - we just have to find anouther ?400 or so for the bill due in two weeks *eek*

How do you tackle the paperwork? Our old accountant took the view that we had to be protected and isolated from the taxman at all costs, so we provided him with bare details and he used them to produce a work of creative originality to send in for us. This new lot seem like they want to do it more by the book.

I don't do the paperwork - I just send the figures to the accountant and he fills in the forms for me *g*

i saw the paperwork once and nearly fainted with shock at all the questions ;)
