There's a reason why wasps aren't striped in pale blue and chocolate brown - yellow and black is the most visible of all the combinations of colours and tones.
In the UK, road sign colours are based on a study of visibility so less important types of sign, like tourist attractions, get less clear combinations (brown and white in that particular case). Yellow and black is reserved for stuff you really have to see - diversions, emergencies, crime witness appeals.
It occurred to me recently the extent to which the yellow / black combination was all over the flat, too, so I dug out the camera and went hunting for examples. I hadn't realised quite how much there was - here are the results.</p> ( Pictures in here ) |

| Woe |
[Feb. 25th, 2004|05:08 pm] |
My journal has been taken over by Marmite-lovers.
I am distraught.
Outnumbered.
Beseiged.
Oppressed.
A minority.
Soon the Daily Express will be fulminating against me and David Blunkett will be locking me up.
I wonder if I can get a grant? |
