| | Still Richard E Grant. | ] | Tiring night last night. Lisa was at work so as soon as I got home I stuck an Adam and the Ants CD on the headphones and got to work on putting all the demo stuff on the Hounslow Lib Dems website and getting a press release out. I had a brief break to eat, and also when Lisa got home a bit before 1am, but apart from that I worked through to 3am and the result is here. I won't inflict the photos from the demo on you here, but if you're interested they're collected here.
Still too early to say whether the congestion charge is working. Waterloo was packed, so much so that we were held back from going down to the tube platforms for a while. But I have to say, that probably had a lot more to do with the fact that the Waterloo and City and the Jubilee lines weren't working and the Northern was severely disrupted. By the time I got onto the District it was very quiet.
And the roads were freakishly clear! Almost the only vehicles around were taxis, motorcycle couriers, vans and buses. Hardly a private car in sight. Of course, it's half term week so a lot of people are probably off on holiday with their kids but even so, it was quite remarkable. |
